SUSTAINABILITY

  Pioneer Packaging is dedicated to a vision of attainable sustainability within the pallet industry and beyond. We take this vision seriously by looking at the life-cycle of the pallet throughout the entire supply chain process. By responsibly sourcing our raw materials, maximizing production efficiencies and reducing wasteful processes we can continually meet this goal year after year. We meticulously track every pallet that is reconditioned, repurposed and eventually recycled into livestock bedding to ensure an environmentally sustainable process throughout the lifespan of each and every pallet.

 Cradle to Grave Pallet Process

1. New pallets are constructed by responsibly sourcing raw wood materials that promote environmental sustainability.
2. Pallets returned to Pioneer Packaging are audited and repaired to extend the life of each pallet.
3. Pallets that are beyond repair or are of a non-standard size are deconstructed for components that are then used to remanufacture pallets for extended use.
4. When a pallet is no longer fit for regular use our Homestead Quality Livestock Bedding division recycles these into reusable livestock bedding. 
5. We process approximately 1,200 yds of bedding each and every day! This equates to around 3,000 semi loads of recycled pallet bedding a year!

Pioneer Transport

1. Pioneer Packaging owns and ethically operates its own trucking fleet known as Pioneer Transport.
2. Using State-of-the-Art technology we monitor the efficiency of each truck to insure minimal environmental impact.
3. Transport metrics are logged and analyzed daily to guarantee each truck is operating at the optimal level.
4. Software is used to plan each route in the most efficient and effective manner. This reduces unnecessary carbon emissions while simultaneously improving delivery times.
5. With our on-site service garage we can quickly respond to maintenance and performance issues to maintain our sustainability goals in real time.
